What this part of the EU AI Act covers

Chapter IX governs what happens after an AI system reaches the market. It requires providers to run post-market monitoring, mandates reporting of serious incidents, sets out the enforcement powers of market surveillance authorities, provides remedies including the right to lodge a complaint and to an explanation of individual decision-making, and supplies a distinct supervision regime for general-purpose AI model providers.

It binds providers for monitoring and reporting, deployers for cooperation and log retention, and authorities for enforcement. It is the chapter that runs indefinitely: the obligations here do not complete at launch but continue for as long as the system remains on the market.
