Section 2: Obligations for Providers of General-Purpose AI Models

What this part of the EU AI Act covers

Section 2 states what every provider of a general-purpose AI model owes: technical documentation, information enabling downstream providers to comply with their own obligations, a policy for respecting Union copyright law, and a sufficiently detailed public summary of the content used for training.

It binds every provider of a general-purpose AI model, whether or not the model carries systemic risk. What it produces is documentation for the AI Office, information downstream providers need to meet their own obligations, a copyright policy, and a public summary of training content.
